The figure given below explains how electricity can be generated using the solar panel for it's use in the households.
The first image gives an idea about the construction and the second and third image gives the different ways the production of electricity helps.
The solar panel consists of a metal box that has a transparent top. Two rod like structures are connected to it on the left and right side. The different uses of the panel includes heating air and water.
In order to heat air, the sun rays falling on the see through top converts the cool air coming through the inlet to hot air. The one on the left is the outlet from which the heated air is expelled.
In case of it to function as a water heater, there is a water pipe installed inside the box under the roof through which the water passes. The heat energy is used to convert the cool water flowing through it to warm water.
In conclusion, solar panels are a great way to save electricity and it has mutiple uses.
