So just recently I've had my official ielts test and there were true false ng questions in the first passage. One of the questions said: Children recorded themselves for one month, while the text said: Children recorded themselves for over a month (A simplified version). So is this true false or not given???

In order to be true a statement and the question should imply the same things but words used can be different.
Here, over a month implies the same thing as one month. The statement should be true.

A false statement contradicts or says something opposite to the given question. That does not seem to be the case this time.

But the q says precisely one month whereas in the text it is over a month (more than one month). How come this is not contradicting?

Oh, sorry. By mistake, my initial response was on 'over the month'. You are right. The statement and the question are not equal and the same thing.
